This is not a mistake. Trauma research shows that This is not a mistake.
Trauma research shows that non-ordinary states can soften top-down control and open implicit memory, stored in the limbic system and body. When the nervous system touches safety or expansion, it often releases what was once too much to feel. That’s why grief can surface after love, anger after clarity, confusion after unity.

From a nervous-system lens, this is pendulation and reorganization. Your system is moving between activation and settling, widening the window of tolerance over time. These emotions aren’t resistance or ego — they’re signals that something meaningful is integrating at a pace the body needs.

Trauma-informed integration doesn’t rush insight or demand gratitude.
It offers containment, pacing, and co-regulation so what emerged can land safely 🤍

✨ If you’re called to learn how to hold post-ceremony experiences with depth, ethics, and nervous-system intelligence, the Somatic Plant Medicine Integration (SPMI) 2026 program is an invitation.

Update on the Epstein files - Deepak Chopra: Hea Update on the Epstein files - Deepak Chopra:

Heart Mind Institute has responded and is removing Deepak Chopra as a key speaker from their summit platform. In full transparency, here is their reply:

“We are aware of public reporting regarding Dr. Deepak Chopra’s past association in connection with the Jeffrey Epstein investigations.

HeartMind unequivocally condemns Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes and stands with survivors of abuse.

In alignment with our values and our responsibility to our community, we have decided to remove Dr. Chopra’s content from our platform.

We remain committed to maintaining the integrity of our community and appreciate your understanding.”

I appreciate their willingness to listen, reflect, and take action.

This is what accountability can look like. And it matters.

I’d like to thank everyone who offered their support, and reached out to the Heart Mind Institute in our stand in removing platforming Deepak Chopra.
I also want to be honest about something deeper about systemic abuse and complicity in psychedelic and plant medicine world.

This isn’t just about one person or one event.
These dynamics are widespread across psychedelic and plant medicine spaces.
Survivors are often unheard.
Harm is minimized.
Influential psychedelic leaders and ceremonial guides remain protected.
Communities stay silent.

And this is how cycles of abuse continue —
not only through overt harm,
but through leaders and communities quietly looking the other way.
Silence, bypassing and proximity are forms of complicity.

If we are serious about being trauma-informed, ethical, and safe, then we must hold ourselves — and our psychedelic communities — to higher standards of accountability.

Healing spaces must also be accountable spaces.
Integrity isn’t just what we teach.
It’s what we refuse to tolerate.

My hope is that this moment encourages more awareness, courage, and collective responsibility across our field — so that survivors are truly protected, heard, and centered.

We all have a role in shaping the culture of this work.

I shared an open letter with the Heart Mind Instit I shared an open letter with the Heart Mind Institute today.

For over two decades, my work has centered on trauma recovery, survivor advocacy, and the prevention and trauma recovery of sexual exploitation, slavery and abuse. Because of this, who I stand beside on public platforms matters. Safety matters. Integrity matters. Trust matters.

I recently learned I was listed as a featured speaker at the Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy Global Summit alongside Deepak Chopra whose presence raises serious ethical concerns around power, women, and exploitation.

This is not aligned with the values of survivor-centered and trauma-informed work.

The psychedelic, plant medicine and healing fields cannot claim to be safe or restorative while simultaneously elevating figures who represent the very dynamics survivors are trying to heal from.

We cannot speak about safety, repair, and collective liberation while ignoring the dynamics of unchecked authority, wealth, influence, and power that have historically harmed, silenced, and exploited women and vulnerable communities.

We cannot preach integrity while platforming people of influence and power whose presence undermines trust and safety.

This is how cycles of abuse continue — not only through overt harm, but through institutions, leaders and communities quietly looking the other way.

Silence and proximity are forms of complicity.

If we are serious about healing, then we must also be serious about accountability.
Ethics is not only what we teach.
Ethics is also who we platform.

I have formally requested that the speaker lineup be reconsidered. If this does not change, I will withdraw my participation.

I believe that the psychedelic, plant medicine and healing communities must hold itself to higher standards of integrity and care — not repeat the same hierarchies and dynamics of power and silence that survivors navigate and suffer from.

In the weeks following plant medicine experiences, In the weeks following plant medicine experiences, participants often share increased sensitivity rather than certainty. Old relational or coping patterns can resurface.
From a trauma-informed lens, this makes sense. As the nervous system settles from non-ordinary states, implicit memory and trauma imprints — stored beyond words — have space to surface.

It’s the body continuing the work, now asking for pacing, containment, and relational support.
If you’re moving through this phase, here are 5 ways to stay conscious and supportive of your process:

🌿 Track sensation, not just thoughts
Notice where experiences live in the body before trying to understand them.
🌿 Slow your meaning-making
Let insights land over time. You don’t need to “know” yet.
🌿 Notice patterns without judgment
When old behaviors return, treat them as information — not failure.
🌿 Orient to safety daily
Small practices of grounding help the nervous system integrate change.
🌿 Seek relational support
Integration isn’t meant to happen in isolation.
