Many of us came to this work through our own pain. Many of us came to this work
through our own pain.

And in many ways, that is understandable.
Experiences of neglect, abandonment, or emotional invisibility often shape people who become deeply attuned to others. When you grow up needing to read the room, sense shifts in energy, or anticipate others’ needs, you develop a kind of empathy that later becomes a real skill. 🌿

Many helpers, therapists, facilitators, and healers learned to be attentive long before they ever entered a training.
Sometimes we become the helper we once needed.
Sometimes helping others becomes a way to reclaim meaning from what we went through.

But there is another layer that is important to look at honestly.
When early wounds remain unprocessed, helping can also become part of an identity structure. We may feel most worthy, safe, or valuable when we are needed by others. The role of healer can quietly organize our sense of self.
And when that happens, it can become difficult to notice our own needs, limits, or unresolved wounds.

The wounded healer archetype is not the problem. Unconscious wounds shaping the spaces we hold can be. ✨
The most responsible healers continue doing their own work — again and again .
If you want to explore how integration supports ethical facilitation and deeper healing work, comment GUIDE and I’ll send it to you. 🌱

People return again and again to ceremonies, retre People return again and again to ceremonies, retreats, breathwork journeys, or other powerful spaces of transformation.

Not necessarily because they are doing something wrong. But because something important happened there.
In these spaces, people often experience what many nervous systems have rarely known in everyday life: deep attunement, emotional permission, belonging, meaning, and the temporary softening of long-held defenses.

For someone carrying trauma, this can feel profoundly regulating.
But when these openings are not followed by careful integration, the contrast with everyday life can be intense.
Unchanged environments reappear and the nervous system may long for the place where connection, clarity, and openness once felt possible.

🌿 Sometimes this creates a subtle cycle: the pull toward the next peak experience.
Not because people need more medicine, but because the body has not yet learned how to live with what was revealed.
This is one of the blind spots I see again and again in the field.
Transformation is not only about powerful openings. It is about helping the nervous system metabolize those experiences so they can become part of a person’s life, relationships, and daily choices.
This is the heart of integration work.

If you would like to learn more about somatic integration and supporting people through this process, I created a guide for facilitators and practitioners.

This is a short moment from a longer practice on Y This is a short moment from a longer practice on YouTube, and what it demonstrates is something very fundamental: resourcing 🌿

Resourcing is about helping the nervous system recognize and register support. Feeling the contact of your sit bones, leaning into the back body, having the option to close your eyes or keep them open—these are all small but significant ways of giving the system choice, orientation, and stability.

From a broader perspective, this is what allows deeper work to happen safely.
Without resourcing, insight can become overwhelming or disconnecting. With resourcing, the body has something to return to. It builds capacity, supports regulation, and makes integration possible over time 🌀

Many people move too quickly into processing or peak experiences without strengthening this foundation. But it is exactly these simple, repeatable moments of support that create lasting change.

This is a BLIND SPOT in many transformational spac This is a BLIND SPOT in many transformational spaces.
Many of us have had this experience. 🌿
We go to a retreat, a ceremony, a breathwork session, or a powerful healing circle.
Our hearts open.
We feel deep connection, insight, love, and clarity.
In those moments, it can feel as if something in us has fundamentally changed.

But a few weeks later, many of us notice something else.
The intensity fades.
Old relational patterns quietly reappear.
The connection we felt during the experience becomes harder to access in everyday life.

This is something many of us in the healing field have experienced ourselves.

It is a blind spot in many transformational spaces.
We often put enormous care into creating powerful experiences.
But much less attention is given to what happens afterwards.
Real transformation often unfolds slowly as the nervous system learns to integrate what was revealed.

Because the truth is:
Powerful experiences deserve thoughtful integration.
