Senior Yoga & Meditation Teacher, Expressive Art Therapist (MA), Somatic Experiencing Practitioner

Trauma Specialist in Sexual Abuse Recovery, Feminine Leadership Coach

Women’s Health Therapist, Author, Public Speaker, Activist

Atira Tan is an inspired woman practitioner and powerful agent of transformation and change. She has touched the lives of thousands of women, men and children internationally, supporting them in their trauma recovery and embodying their authentic heart-felt purpose in life.

A deep devotion to the divine, alongside the rigours of her feminine spiritual practice of yoga and service, and extensive experience in somatic trauma recovery, inform a deep desire to pass on this wisdom and knowledge, so that humanity can live in freedom, love and power on this beautiful planet.

“Every morning my prayer is to open to love and to the divine, and to let that flow through my speech, my thoughts and my actions in the world.”

– Atira Tan, Elephant Journal interview.

Hailing from Asia, Atira is a global citizen, a world traveler and seeker of truth, and deeply curious about the cross-cultural themes of feminine sexuality and empowerment.

She has worked for over a decade internationally in community organisations and international development as a consultant, clinician and supervisor, as well as an educator in community settings.

Her women’s health & trauma informed programs in the rural communities, brothels and slums of Asia, have changed the lives of many women and children who have experienced sexual abuse and exploitation.

“In our culture, connection to our feeling body has been so suppressed. Reclaiming the feminine gives voice to our emotional self, to the body’s intelligence, and using that as the fuel for our social change.”

– Atira Tan, MINDFOOD interview

Atira is a model of embodied feminine leadership, and is passionate about supporting humanity to heal, and thus, empowering them to follow their authentic calling in the world. A trauma survivor of child abuse, she is informed by her own journey of recovery to support others to thrive and grow.

Based in Melbourne, and now teaching globally in workshops, retreats and teacher trainings in South America, Europe, Asia and Australia, Atira weaves together the arenas of spirituality, activism, yoga, women’s transformation and healing into a holistic life of Inspired Action from the Heart.

She specialises in Trauma-Informed Yoga & Facilitation Training Programs, Women’s Health and Leadership,  Spiritual Activism and Recovery from Sexual Abuse.

“Atira holds a beautiful space that feels incredibly safe to explore and uncover the many layers of experienced trauma. Her intuitive way of working and the practices she guides with have helped me to rewire my entire nervous sytem.
I now have a strong template for how to identify, track, and clear associated trauma behaviours. Her sessions have guided me back home to my body, heart and spirit. I am eternally grateful.”

– Adelina Vaughn, Bodyworker and Energy Healer, USA.

“If  you are ready to engage in serious trauma healing work, Atira  is the practitioner to go for.
Her own genuine humanness, consistently lived and embodied, and her outstandingly compassionate nature create a strong and safe therapeutic container that cannot be surpassed. After a search for decades for the right trauma therapist, all thumbs up for her, as the healing and transformation I’ve been looking for has finally become real!”

– Jessica Bertram, Eco-Tour Guide, Germany.
